This book grew out of the list of words I needed to look up while researching the abduction and murder of 43 students from the Rural Teachers College in Ayotzinapa, a town in the Mexican state of Guerrero. (See Nos Faltan for more information) I was taking an intro to Spanish class at the local community college, but the vocabulary I needed for my research was not covered in an entry level college course. The photographs were made in Oaxaca, Mexico between 2009 and 2016. The pages function like flash cards with English translation of the Spanish words on the verso.
