1996–97, 7.5 x 20 x 2 inches altered encyclopedia, laser prints one-of-a-kind One of three one-of-a-kind books that “work” images of the pin factory from Diderot’s 18th-century L’Encyclopédie into a discarded contemporary encyclopedia volume. The pin factory was a classic example adduced by Adam Smith to illustrate the advantages of a division of labor. |
